چکیده

In this paper, we study the statistical properties of bookmarking behaviors in Delicious.com. We find that the interevent time (τ) distributions of bookmarking decays powerlike as τ increases at both individual and population level. Remarkably, we observe a significant change in the exponent when interevent time increases from intra-day to inter-day range. In addition, dependence of exponent on individual Activity is found to be different in the two ranges. These results suggests that mechanisms driving human actions are different in intraand inter-day range. Instead of monotonically increasing with Activity, we find that inter-day exponent peaks at value around 3. We further show that less active users are more likely to resemble poisson process in bookmarking. Based on the temporal-preference model, preliminary explanations for this dependence have been given . Finally, a universal behavior in inter-day scale is observed by considering the rescaled variable τ/〈τ〉. PACS: 89.75.Da;05.45.Tp;02.50.Ey

Multiple-time scaling and universal behavior of the earthquake interevent time distribution.

The interevent time distribution characterizes the temporal occurrence in seismic catalogs. Universal scaling properties of this distribution have been evidenced for entire catalogs and seismic sequences. Recently, these universal features have been questioned and some criticisms have been raised. We investigate the existence of universal scaling properties by analyzing a Californian catalog an...

Heterogenous Human Dynamics in Intra and Inter-day Time Scale

In this paper, we study two large data sets containing the information of two different human behaviors: blog-posting and wiki-revising. In both cases, the interevent time distributions decay as power-laws at both individual and population level. As different from previous studies, we put emphasis on time scales and obtain heterogeneous decay exponents in intraand interday range for the same da...

Distribution of tsunami interevent times

[1] The distribution of tsunami interevent times is analyzed using global and site-specific (Hilo, Hawaii) tsunami catalogs. An empirical probability density distribution is determined by binning the observed interevent times during a period in which the observation rate is approximately constant. The empirical distributions for both catalogs exhibit non-Poissonian behavior in which there is an...

Scaling behavior of online human activity

The rapid development of Internet technology enables human explore the web and record the traces of online activities. From the analysis of these large-scale data sets (i.e. traces), we can get insights about dynamic behavior of human activity. In this letter, the scaling behavior and complexity of human activity in the e-commerce, such as music, book, and movie rating, are comprehensively inve...

Contours Extraction Using Line Detection and Zernike Moment

Most of the contour detection methods suffers from some drawbacks such as noise, occlusion of objects, shifting, scaling and rotation of objects in image which they suppress the recognition accuracy. To solve the problem, this paper utilizes Zernike Moment (ZM) and Pseudo Zernike Moment (PZM) to extract object contour features in all situations such as rotation, scaling and shifting of object i...
